Preparing for the rainy season, rescuers trained Tuesday at Castaic Lake, where personnel from 18 emergency operations agencies participated in swift water rescue exercises.
``Rescuers'' in helicopters, watercrafts and inflatable boats practiced holding ``victims'' and signaling to their team members to work in concert. The training exercise kicked off Flood Channel Safety Month.
Rescuers on the boats practiced pulling victims in, while rescuers on the watercraft worked on picking up victims from a basket trailing their boats.
Officials said most rescues tend to involve children or young adults. ...
