Two earthquakes shook a remote area near the California-Nevada border Sunday, after several smaller temblors rattled the San Fernando Valley, Caltech reported.
A magnitude-4.3 quake struck at 9:15 a.m. Sunday and was centered about 20 miles north northwest of Stovepipe Wells, a camping area at Death Valley National Park in Inyo County, said Nick Scheckel, a seismologist with the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
