NBA rules required the Celtics and Pistons to play a fourth quarter last night, but the truth of the matter is the Bostonians took care of this one a bit earlier.
All it took for the Celts to acquire their third straight victory was one surgical strike in the third quarter. The rest of the 117-92 triumph was just details. Or as Jerry Stackhouse put it, "They kicked our ass.''
Paul Pierce, who scored a game-high 31 points, was slightly more diplomatic.
"They fought back on us,'' he said, "and then we got up and took it to them.''
