CHICAGO -- A new Chicago Tribune/WGN-TV poll indicates Democratic gubernatorial candidates Rod Blagojevich and Roland Burris are in a statistical dead heat and Paul Vallas is not far behind. The poll also shows Republican Jim Ryan in the driver's seat for his party's nomination. Results of the poll, the final before the March 19 primary, are published in the Sunday, March 10 editions of the Chicago Tribune.
One week from the 2002 primaries, the Democratic race has tightened. Among those polled by the Tribune, 31% prefer Burris, while 30% prefer Blagojevich. Paul Vallas remains in third place at 23%, up from 20% less than one month ago. Burris has solidified his ...
