Among the hardest hit by the attack on the World Trade Center are companies involved in international trade and others with operations across the United States. All have one thing in common: They depend upon air transportation for both cargo and personnel.

Westchester and connecticut's Fairfield County for years have been hubs for many of these companies because of the proximity to New York City and the area's three major airports.
