When Then Joy Crichlow took the responsibility of developing Con Edison's relationship with women and minority-owned businesses 20 years ago, her employer told her to try and get at least a half million dollars worth of business that year.

"He told me, 'Don't expect too much,'" she said.

Today she brings in more than $120 million worth of minority contracts into Con Ed.

Crichlow was the keynote speaker at The County Chamber of Commerce's breakfast, "Strategic Purchasing Opportunities Forum," co-sponsored by the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Westchester & Rockland Counties on Nov. 8.
