MONUMENT -- When the -Lewis-Palmer girls basketball team beat Montrose 36-25 in the second round of the Class 4A state basketball tournament Friday night, the scoring - or the lack of scoring - didn't surprise many.
``I knew it was going to be a defensive game,'' said Montrose coach John Mraule, whose Indians were seeded ninth in the 32-team bracket. ``We thought we could hold them down, but there was nothing we could do against their defense.''
