Seven years before former Appeals Court Judge Roland Amundson was charged with stealing from a mentally disabled woman's trust, her sister implored a court to remove him as trustee.
He hadn't returned her phone calls for five years as he sorted out the estate of the woman's father, the sister alleged in a letter to a Hennepin County district judge. She said he didn't seem to care about the disabled woman, and the sister, along with the woman's conservator, worried that Amundson's former law firm overcharged the estate in settling the will. Court records show about $200,000 in such fees.
