Foreign investors in Kazakstan are coming to terms with the creation of the new state-run oil giant, Kazmunaigas (KMG), which unites transportation monopoly Transneftegas (TNG) with producer and refiner Kazakoil (NC Feb.21,p1). And their initial conclusion is that it is a further boost for Timur Kulibaev, President Nursultan Nazarbaev's son-in-law who has been appointed first vice president of KMG.
