The Paradigm Secure Communications consortium which includes EADS and BAE Systems, has been selected by the British Ministry of Defence for the development of a secure military communications system for the Skynet 5 satellite. Astrium, a subsidiary of the European EADS group (75%) and Britain's BAE Systems (25%), will supply the two Skynet 5 satellites as well as ground support systems.
