PRESIDENT Kim Dae-jung of Korea has announced that work will start two years earlier than planned on the second phase of the Seoul--Busan high-speed project from Daegu to Busan. This is because construction of three major highways has been completed, releasing resources for other projects, and the government is keen to stimulate the economy.
