Market Street Cinema, which closed last November, is reopening March 22 with a new owner and direction.
The old bargain theater at the Market & Merrill Shopping Center in west Little Rock will now feature critically acclaimed movies, said new owner Matt Smith.
"We'll show foreign and art films, documentaries, Academy Award winners and Golden Globe award winners and lots of things that you never see on the other screens in Little Rock," Smith said.
Gone also are the $1 movies. Regular adult admission is $3 for matinees and $4 after 6 p.m. Senior citizen and children's admission is $3. First time showings in Little Rock will be $1 higher.
