WHEN GARY VAILE STARTED in the Christian radio industry 20 years ago, there weren't many Christian stations in Arkansas.
Now there are more than 50.
"There is an increased interest in Christian music, and some of the larger companies are making some significant investments' in Christian music stations," said Joe Miller, director of signal development for K-Love Radio in Sacramento, Calif.
In the last six months, K-Love, which owns or operates 57 stations nationwide, spent $1 million to buy two radio stations in the Jonesboro area. It now has three full-power FM stations, an AM station and several low-power repeater stations in Arkansas.
