Mar. 14--The Orlando Sentinel Communications Co. asked Altamonte Springs officials Wednesday for permission to search for dozens of barrels buried under city property to be sure they don't contain toxic solvent that was used in the newspaper's printing process.
As many as 200 barrels were to have contained only printing ink when they were properly disposed of 26 years ago in a landfill that since has been converted into a city maintenance yard and landscape nursery.
