THE new Compact E series of recycling extruders from Plasmac use a short dual diameter screw to convert scrap film trims, reels or loose pieces into granules in one operation at throughputs of 25 to 60 kg/hr (LDPE). Design of the machines has been simplified. Trims are automatically gravity fed and reels can be fed simultaneously by use of a variable speed unit with pneumatic tensioning.
Filtration is optional and pellets are made on a die face cutter. Granule cooling is either by air or water, depending on the type of material. Recyclate may be mixed with virgin in proportions of up to 100 per cent.
