Walking home from a Toluca Lake market, with bags of groceries in both hands and $22 in his wallet, Peter Maloney was approached by a man on a yellow 10-speed bicycle who shot him and left him to die.
The killer got back on his bike and rode away.
That was nearly a year ago.
``Once in a while, citizens still call in and say they saw a yellow bicycle,'' said Los Angeles police Detective Mike Coffey of the North Hollywood Division. ``That's been as far as the case has gotten.''
