It's been said Bill Frisell takes more chances than any other guitarist in contemporary jazz. A highly distinctive stylist, Frisell's aural landscapes have been likened to painting as often as musical genres.
Starting as house guitarist for the European ambient jazz label ECM in the late '70s, Frisell made his solo debut in 1983 with ``In Line.'' He now has more than 80 records to his credit, including collaborations with Elvis Costello, Hal Wilner, Marianne Faithfull, Ginger Baker, John Zorn and others.
