MediaNews Group has completed its purchase of the Daily News of Los Angeles, making it the fifth newspaper in the company's Suburban Los Angeles Newspaper Group and pushing the L.A. group's Sunday circulation to more than 450,000.
With the purchase of five newspapers in little more than a year, MediaNews has assembled the largest daily and Sunday suburban newspaper group in the country. The five newspapers, all based in Los Angeles County and serving much of the county and region, virtually surround L.A.
