Maybe Americans aren't as cynical about the presidency as the media thinks they are.
Conventional cynics, after all, questioned the wisdom of banking money on ``Air Force One'' (1997, Columbia TriStar; $14.95), insisting that the public was too disillusioned to buy the idea of a heroic president.
