All the Lakers wanted from the Golden State Warriors on Saturday was the kind of fight they have come to expect from the Warriors, which is to say not much of a fight at all. All they wanted after a heartbreaking loss on Friday was a nice, easy blowout to ease their pain.
Instead, the Lakers found themselves struggling to put their hosts away despite taking an early 20-point lead. The Warriors provided more excitement than expected, cutting the lead to a mere five points in the third quarter before the Lakers pulled away for a 96-84 victory before a season-high Coliseum Arena crowd of 19,821.
