Nonflammable roofs and other fire resistant home construction materials would be required in newly designated fire hazard areas under an ordinance set for review by the City Council later this month.
Forested edges of the city where subdivisions are proposed, and small pieces of wilderness within Santa Clarita are identified in the proposed restrictions.
