THERE'S a billion-dollar industry right under our noses, here in the San Fernando Valley. It's called the Van Nuys Airport.
Most people in the San Fernando Valley don't even know there's a general aviation airport in our midst; when you say ``airport,'' they think of the two hours it takes to get to Los Angeles International Airport or of the growing pains that Burbank Airport is experiencing.
Even though Van Nuys will never have scheduled flights like LAX or Burbank, there is debate over what kinds of airplanes should be allowed to operate there, and how the airport should be used. The Los Angeles City Council is ...
