Dan Penn has a few songs under his belt.
Nothing serious - just some co-writes such as ``Dark End of the Street,'' ``You Left the Water Running,'' ``Out of Left Field,'' ``It Tears Me Up,'' ``Do Right Woman,'' ``Cry Like a Baby'' and ``I'm Your Puppet'' - enough to retire on.
Penn, along with others in that most unlikely of tiny towns called Muscle Shoals in rural Alabama, is partly responsible for inventing that enduring and beloved genre known as Southern soul.
