A new Brian De Palma movie is always a cause for celebration and dread.
Cineastes and suspense lovers alike know they can look forward to shocking plot twists, outlandish-yet-accomplished homages to great films of the past and virtuoso visual techniques. But they also know that he sometimes opts for an incoherent commercial production to keep his stock high with Hollywood studios, which results in muddled messes like ``Bonfire of the Vanities'' and ``Mission: Impossible.''
On the other hand, those who don't appreciate De Palma's compositional gifts and outrageous imagery wish he'd stick to nice, ...
