Sean Beard, leaning on his crutches with his right leg already in a cast, vowed after Cal State Northridge's 44-17 pummeling of Southern Utah on Saturday that he'd return this season.
It might be in four weeks, in six weeks or two months, but the junior nose guard said his broken fibula won't end his season. He said it with conviction. With belief. It was said more with emotion than a sense of reality.
