The City Council is being asked to hit the ground running and select a new top administrator, one of the more important decisions of a council member's career and one that could set the tone for what had been a bitterly divided group.
Mayor Michael Markey is sending a letter today to the new City Council, urging members to make the city manager selection a top priority, suggesting that the council begin holding candidate interviews in December, at its first meeting after the swearing-in ceremony later this month.
