With funding finally in place, Oxnard Airport will build a badly needed hangar to replace a decades-old facility that was destroyed in a fire more than four years ago.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for next spring on a $3.5 million ``fixed base operator'' facility that allows for flight instruction, aircraft repairs, fueling services and storage of modern aircraft too large for the airport's two existing hangars.
