Calvin Murphy took an outlet pass and buzzed up the court, looking for an open man. He found a teammate down low and threw a quick bounce pass for a layup.
Fans of Niagara basketball knew this was not the Calvin Murphy whose number hangs from the rafters at Gallagher Center.
That one would have pulled up for a 23-foot jumper without thinking twice. That one was the best player in school history and arguably the best ever under 6 feet.
This is his kid. Same looks, same mannerisms, same school and, of course, same name.
