Can you meditate high blood pressure away?

That's what researchers at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, affiliated with King-Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, are trying to find out. In a six-month study funded by the National Institutes of Health, they're searching for 100 African-Americans age 21 to 71 with mild high blood pressure - 140-179 (systolic) over 90-109 (dyastolic) - to help gauge whether 20 minutes of transcendental meditation twice a day will lower blood pressure as well as medication and exercise.
