It is a little before 4 p.m. on any day the Dodgers are at home, and not even the vendors have arrived. Mike Piazza has just pulled into the parking lot. Bill Russell is still forming the night's lineup.
The Dodgers relievers, a good five hours from their part in a pennant race, are already hard at work.
Hard at work, playing.
It's the most relaxed, pure-fun daily ritual at Dodger Stadium. It's an activity the fans will never see.
Batting practice for guys who may never bat.
``It's the best part of the day,'' Scott Radinsky said.
