Byline: Larry Lipson Daily News Restaurant Critic
Despite words such as ``tawouk,'' ``ghallaya'' and ``mjadara,'' on its menu, Grape Leaves Express, a new fast-food spot in Studio City, illustrates the move to the mainstream by local Middle Eastern eateries.
Grape Leaves took over the ill-fated Todo Wraps site and has full-service cafes in Pasadena, San Diego, Riverside and Palm Springs, marketing itself as a ``Mediterranean restaurant.''
Its food is tasty and nicely presented as well as reasonably priced and fairly portioned, and is attracting a cross-section of the East San Fernando Valley populace, not just Middle Eastern expatriates.
