EDITORIAL : FOR BETTER ROADS; MEASURE D WOULD HELP AGOURA HILLS FIX ITS TRAFFIC PROBLEMS.(Editorial)(Editorial)

IF approved by a majority of voters, Measure D on the Nov. 4 ballot in the city of Agoura Hills would create a 3 percent utility tax on commercial and industrial users.

Almost any tax has built-in repugnance and Measure D is no exception. But Agoura Hills is a special case with particular conditions to justify this tax measure.

Thus, the Daily News cautiously supports Measure D. We recommend that voters approve it and stay vigilant to make sure the City Council spends the tax revenue (an estimated $700,000 annually) as promised - for street and sidewalk improvements, redesigning overloaded freeway interchanges and improving the city's business climate by ...
