Budroyale is one of only nine horses to win three races at the meet, but the California-bred gelding hasn't exactly been considered a Santa Anita Derby-type horse.
That could change with a good showing in the $250,000-added San Felipe Stakes on Sunday. In the Grade II San Felipe, Budroyale will face the likes of Prince Of Thieves, Semoran and Odyle, whose accomplishments have been well-documented.
Where does Budroyale fit into the equation? Trainer Mike Puhich is anxious to find out.
