WILLARD, Ohio -- Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza is a star in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Virginia. PB&J lovers elsewhere just can't get it.
This uncommon concoction, an innovation from the test kitchens of East of Chicago Pizza Company's founder Scott Granneman when he had only one store, has spread to every one of his 142 restaurants as a standard menu item. But only the flagship store in Willard, Ohio, will give away free slices on National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day, April 2.
"Goodyear has its tires, Anchor Hocking has its glass, Longaberger has its baskets...and we have our Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza," says Granneman. "Some folks say ...
