SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Assuming overconfidence didn't set in as Wake Forest watched Oregon play the first half against Montana, the Demon Deacons should present some interesting problems for the Ducks on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
In beating Pepperdine 83-74 on Thursday at Arco Arena, Wake Forest showed a solid inside game with 6-foot-9 senior Darius Songaila (18 points), good three-point shooting in Craig Dawson (5-of-9, 19 points) and solid play at point guard in Broderick Hicks (15 points, seven assists).
And against the Waves, the Deacons started five seniors.
