Week after week, yard after yard, the St. Louis Rams are reminded what they gave away in Jerome Bettis, the NFL's second-leading rusher.
This week, Bettis gets to show them in person.
Bettis has waited all season to play against the Rams (2-6), who were so eager to rid themselves of the two-time 1,000-yard rusher that they almost gift-wrapped him for the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) in a draft-day trade.
Bettis' chance comes today, and he wouldn't mind asking them why a perennial loser like the Rams tossed him aside, but a traditionally strong team couldn't wait to make him their featured runner.
