Article: Ariadne auf Naxos. (Opera in Review).

The lyrical works of Richard Strauss are not usually part of the Montreal repertoire. In fact, the premiere of Ariadne auf Naxos in Montreal did not take place until 1946. This past summer, however, the students of l'Atelier lyrique de l'opera de McGill presented the same Strauss opera at the Orford Festival, under the direction of Timothy Vernon.
