POLL FINDS VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS SUPPORT CUTTING GOVERNMENT WASTE
TO REDUCE THE DEFICIT
WASHINGTON, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) released the results of a deficit-reduction poll commissioned in mid-April at a Capitol Hill news conference on May 3.
"Americans want action to deal with the national scandal of federal government waste. The Wirthlin poll found that 64 percent of Americans prefer cutting government waste over raising taxes to reduce the deficit, with only 2 percent favoring a tax increase," said CAGW President Alan L. Keyes.
