The Southern Baptist Convention's North American Mission Board has decided to stop endorsing ordained women chaplains. The action, taken at a trustee meeting February 6, followed the Southern Baptists' International Mission Board action in January to request that all foreign missionaries sign an affirmation of faith--one that was revised in 2000 and that critics say tightened doctrinal restraints.
