One year ago, Michael Schroeder led a political insurgency to victory over the Wheeling Township Republican Organization's candidates for township offices.
The Bipartisan Party - founded by Republican activist Ruth O'Connell and Wheeling Township Democratic Committeeman Patrick Botterman - took seven of nine elected offices, including the supervisor's post.
On Tuesday, Supervisor Schroeder became the township's Republican committeeman, trouncing Rodney Adams, the organization's candidate to succeed outgoing GOP Committeeman Connie Peters, by a better than 2-to-1 ratio.
