FR. JOHN F. DUFFY, director of formation for the Paulist community at St. Paul's College in Washington since 1998, has been elected 17th president of the Paulist Fathers. He succeeds Paulist Fr. Frank DeSiano, who is concluding his two-term, eight-year limit as president. Duffy was Paulist director of vocations from 1988-94. Currently, members of the Paulists, founded in 1858 by Fr. Isaac Hecker, staff parishes, serve university campuses and downtown centers, operate the Paulist Press and produce cinema, video and Internet sites for apostolic outreach.
