SINGAPORE Growing by 1.6 hotels per year is not fast enough for Ho Kwon Ping. The founder and chairman of Banyan Trees Hotels and Resorts is in a confident mood about opportunities and his six-year-old company's ability to take advantage of them. "For financially strong players, the current steep decline in the global hospitality industry is a good time to expand through new projects or acquisitions," says Ho. "The weaker players will drop out. When the rebound comes, it is likely to be strong because of pent-up demand for holidays."
