The work ahead of the Madison County Freedom Trail Commission is similar to that encountered by the people who worked the Underground Railroad.
In the 1800s, a carefully built network of people, each doing his or her part, worked tirelessly to bring Southern slaves north to freedom.
Beginning this week, a carefully built network of people from throughout Madison County, each doing his or her part, will work tirelessly to bring to the public the truth about the slaves' travels North to freedom.
