North Mississippi All-Stars, Shake Hands With Shorty (Tone Cool).
Hailing from Tate County, Mississippi, the All-Stars' origins are hard by Holly Springs and Oxford, stomping grounds of the late Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside, two seminal juke wizards whose output we've mentioned before. What the All-Stars do, besides paying deep homage to the two masters, is lash out with a version of white boys' blues, the likes of which you haven't heard since Michael Bloomfield, Fresh Cream, and Beggar's Banquet.
