As with all great experiments, the Great Robot Tale at Bloomingdale's Westfield Middle School lived up to the childhood mantra: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
For months students in the school's computer club worked on a plan to build a robot and design an accompanying program that would carry the principal's morning cup of coffee right into his office.
Finally, the big day arrived. Unfortunately, the group hit a snag. Or perhaps the robot wasn't motivated to give its best effort that day.
Regardless, it was not a fait accompli. The group had to go back into the system ...
