QVC SELLS COMB TO FINGERHUT
WEST CHESTER, Pa., May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- QVC Network Inc. (NASDAQ: QVCN) announced today that it has sold its COMB mail-order business unit to a subsidiary of Fingerhut Companies Inc. for $3.5 million in cash.
QVC had acquired COMB as part of its acquisition of CVN Companies Inc. on Oct. 31, 1989, and, at that time, disclosed its intention to divest the COMB operations. An earlier planned sale of COMB to Damark International Inc. had been terminated on April 5 because conditions of closing were not satisfied.
The assets sold to Fingerhut consist primarily of inventories associated with the COMB ...
