Increased telematics and electrical systems in vehicles could mean new business for Parker Hannifin Corp.'s Chomerics Division.

Its electromagnetic interference products-including glass-impregnated silicone-are under evaluation for automotive uses beyond their traditional navigational systems and cellular telecommunications applications.

``In the automotive industry they're just learning about it,'' said Charlene Anderson, market manager for the division. ``They might know about a foil tape, which is a pretty basic method of shielding that you see, but we've got much more.''
