Specialty Elastomers Technologies Inc. acquired precision custom rubber molder Acushnet Thailand Ltd. on March 21 for an undisclosed amount.
SETI, a group of rubber and plastic product companies formed in June 2000, purchased Acushnet Thailand's 42,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing operation, which makes wiper blades, brake components and custom molded industrial and office products for the automotive, appliance, industrial and aerospace industries.
Started in 1986, the Thailand facility-formerly owned by New Bedford, Mass.-based Acushnet Rubber Co.-was designated a non-core business by the company in August 2001.
