Palatine nurse Debbie Agnew isn't a religious person, but she wonders if God put her on Route 45 on the afternoon of Feb. 26 for a reason.
That day, a freak fatal accident occurred. A school bus heading north on Route 45 in Grayslake, near Route 120, hit a patch of ice and veered into oncoming traffic. First, it broadsided Agnew's Jeep. Then it literally ran over the Toyota Corolla behind her. The man in that car was killed instantly.
The bus ended up on its side, in a ditch. Thinking there might be children inside, Agnew dashed over to the bus. It was empty except for the driver, who collapsed ...
