Mar. 28--RALEIGH, N.C.--In the dark, the music can deceive.
Skillfully balanced on the edge of cacophony, many of the pieces blend the live strains of the clarinet with the computer-generated noises until you can't tell which is which.
That's what excites Rodney Waschka II, a 40-something composer and associate professor at N.C. State University. Waschka recently was the host of North Carolina's first-ever computer music festival.
